How DealProof Works
What the numbers mean.
DealProof is designed to make the context around a deal easier to understand.
Current price
DealProof periodically observes publicly available prices from supported retailer websites.
Advertised price and RRP
When a retailer shows a Was or RRP price, DealProof may show the advertised discount. That is the retailer’s comparison, not proof that the earlier price was the normal market price.
Observed price history
DealProof records prices the system has actually observed. Merchant advertised discount and DealProof observed price history are shown as separate things, because they answer different questions.
Historical confidence
Short history is marked Low. We do not call a price a “lowest ever” or a “90-day low” without enough observations.
Deal discovery
Some deals are found automatically while DealProof monitors prices at supported retailers.
Verification
Verified means the supported retailer page was recently checked and the main product and price details matched. Partially verified means useful details were confirmed, but not every part of the offer could be confirmed at that time.
Before you buy
Prices and availability can change. Always confirm the final price, stock and any deal terms on the retailer website before purchase.
